Riding A Cycle Of Awareness

Here's a success story. Not the rags-to-riches kinds, but of achieving the unthinkable. Neither their lack of years nor their address -- they belong to the slum areas -- has been able to stop them. This bunch of little angels from Janta Colony and Adarsh Nagar in Nayagaon, who're anywhere between nine and 14 years of age, has managed to improve the health status of other slum kids. And for all the hard work they put in since May, the youngsters have earned smart bicycles. They will be felicitated on Sunday, the birthday of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, who wanted to create responsible citizens out of children. And, here's a group he would've been proud of. Older children looking after the little ones' health might have sounded like an unachievable task but then Gurpreet Singh, assistant director of NGO Developing Indigenous Resources (DIR), came up with the novel idea two years ago. He helped me solve all my “problems”, but most of our time together was spent fighting over silly things. Not even a single peaceful day passed amo

True Serendipity

Lost in the routine.... I was running against time... Ignoring little pleasures I was looking out for big joys A little walk alone Made me stop and atone I realized the true happiness that was always around me

Fight At Night

In middle of the chaos, I slog Unmindful of my mind's fog Not caring about the needles of the clock I go on to create ‘literature in hurry’ Even in the middle of the night Finding right words is the big fight The insane ambience seems friendly I admit this candidly I love the chaos, and I love to slog

Women & Men

A few like her eyes that talk Staring at her juicy lips, men stop Her dainty physique makes them check her out But none knows what turns her on What is it that her little brain ticks to What her little heart beats for They all try to make her feel special But she knows its nothing but pretension She doesn’t want anything except for true friendship Aren’t they capable of platonic relationship?
